BICHECTOMY (BUCCAL FAT REMOVAL)
The cheek fat pad, which is one of the three large fat pads in the face area,
causes a perception of overweight in people with rounded facial features.
In such cases, the cheek fat pad can be reduced in mass to some extent. In this
way, the area under the cheekbones is weakened. The resulting effect reveals
more defined cheekbones, a thinner cheek line and a relatively thinner facial
appearance.
Bichectomy can be performed under general or local anesthesia, and the
approximate procedure time is 40 minutes. 2 to 4 cc of adipose tissue is removed
from both cheek fat pads, through surgery. This procedure is performed through
a 1 cm incision performed in the buccal mucosa inside the mouth. At the end of
the surgery, 1-2 stitches are placed in this area. These stitches are removed one
week later.
The recovery time of the surgery is about one week.
