Endoscopic Temporal Lift Surgery
What is an Endoscopic Temporal Lift?
The endoscopic temporal lift is a modern, minimally invasive surgical technique designed to rejuvenate the upper face by addressing sagging in the outer eyebrows, upper eyelids, and temple region. Using a small camera (endoscope) and fine surgical instruments, the procedure is performed through tiny incisions hidden within the hairline, avoiding visible scars while achieving a refreshed and natural look.
Who is a Good Candidate?
This procedure is ideal for patients who experience:
Drooping of the outer eyebrow tail
Hooding of the upper eyelid caused by lateral brow descent
Early signs of aging in the temple region
Desire for a natural lift without the stigmata of “overdone” surgery
It is often chosen by younger patients in their 30s–50s who want subtle rejuvenation, as well as by those seeking a less invasive alternative to a full brow lift.
Surgical Technique
Incisions: 2–3 small incisions (about 1–2 cm) are made within the hair-bearing scalp.
Endoscopic assistance: An endoscope provides magnified visualization of the tissues, allowing precise dissection.
Release & repositioning: The underlying tissues of the brow and temple are carefully released from their attachments. The brow is then repositioned to a more youthful and natural contour.
Fixation: The lifted tissues are secured using sutures or fixation devices to maintain long-lasting results.
Closure: Incisions are closed with fine sutures and remain hidden in the hairline.
Advantages of the Endoscopic Temporal Lift
Minimally invasive with shorter scars
Quicker recovery compared to traditional open techniques
Natural-looking results without an exaggerated appearance
Can be combined with other facial rejuvenation procedures (blepharoplasty, facelift, fat grafting) for comprehensive results
Recovery Process
Mild swelling and bruising are expected in the first 7–10 days
Most patients return to work and social activities within 1–2 weeks
Full healing and final results become apparent over several weeks
Results are long-lasting, although the natural aging process continues
Risks and Considerations
As with any surgery, there are potential risks such as temporary numbness, asymmetry, or rarely, injury to deeper structures. Choosing an experienced plastic surgeon minimizes these risks and ensures optimal outcomes.
Conclusion
The endoscopic temporal lift is a refined and effective method for restoring a youthful, rested appearance to the upper face. With its minimally invasive approach, hidden scars, and natural results, it has become a preferred technique for patients seeking subtle yet powerful rejuvenation.
ENDOSCOPIC TEMPORAL LIFT
The forehead and the periorbital region are very important for our look. They reflect a lot of information about the situation of the person to the other party. If your eyebrows are low, you will look tired and older than you are. Especially, the eyebrows normally have an arc-like appearance. The medial side is low, the middle reaches the highest point at the level of the lateral limbus, and the brow tail again decreases towards the outer edge. This is the natural structure of eyebrow anatomy. The eyebrow is located at a level higher than the bone forming the upper edge of the orbit in women, called the orbital rim. It is approximately at the same level as the orbital rim in men. Having the outer edges of the eyebrows at a lower level gives the person a tired and stagnant appearance. So, a temporal lifting operation is performed to change this image to a more fresh appearance.
The procedure takes about an hour and a half and can be performed under general or local anesthesia. A beveled incision approximately one and a half centimeters beyond the temporal hairline is made, and the underlying temporal fascia is identified. The hair follicles are preserved with the beveled incision.
Temporal fascia is dissected without damaging it until the eyebrow tail and lateral orbital rim level is reached, and skin is lifted to the desired position with suspension sutures. During this procedure, the underlying nerve and vascular structures are preserved with maximum care by using endoscopic systems. The skin, which is dissected from the underlying tissues, is stretched in the direction of the hair bun and vertex with the help of thick and solid sutures. The resulting stretching effect is controlled and fixed in the desired position. Later, skin sutures are placed, and dressing is done.
The recovery period of endoscopic temple lift surgery is approximately 2 weeks. Its effect is permanent. Since the incision area is hidden behind the temporal hairline and inside the hair roots, there is no scarring left. The eye edges, lateral canthus region, and the eyebrow tail on both sides are pulled back and forth with the effect of endoscopic temple lift surgery. As a result, looks become more elegant, attractive, and energetic.
CAT EYE SURGERY:
Cat eye surgery consists of 3 surgeries combined:
- Temporal lift
- Lateral canthopexy
- Midface lift
In cat eye, These three surgeries together are done at the same time through the same incision. 2 cm temporal hairline incision is made and 2-4 sutures are placed in each locations.
Final effect is durable and permenant which gives the individual a young and fresh look.
